MINISTRIES SUPPORTING EUCHARISTIC WORSHIP

EUCHARISTIC MINISTRIES

The Eucharistic Minister distributes the Eucharist at Masses throughout the year on a scheduled basis, generally every other weekend. Special ministers to the sick bring Communion to nursing homes and shut-ins. This ministry is available to adult parishioners.

LECTORS

Lectors help to prepare and present the readings at each Mass. This ministry is available to adult parishioners.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTRY TEAM LEADER

Adult lay ministers assist the celebrant during Mass.

USHERS

The men and women involved in this ministry greet and seat people as they enter church, distribute bulletins, collect the weekly and special offerings and prepare the church for the next service.

CHOIRS

A weekly rehearsal is held for all.

LITURGY AND WORSHIP COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for planning weekend liturgies and special worship services.

SACRISTANS

This group cleans the sacristy and areas of the church.

ALTAR SERVERS AND ACOLYTES

Altar servers (girls and boys in elementary and junior high school) and acolytes (girls and boys in high school) assist the celebrant during Mass.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Ministers proclaim the Gospel to children in grades one through three during the Liturgy of the Word at most weekend Masses. Training is available for any adult parishioner interested in this ministry.
